  • Anger & Bargaining: Blaming Pierre McGuire/NBC for all of your problems
  • Depression: Weeping uncontrollably into your jerseys, spending hours staring longingly at pictures of your captain on tumblr

RESILIENT

I am truly heartbroken this morning-last night it really had not settled in that there is no game 7 and it is over-I have been thinking back about the entire 2011-2012 Rangers season-From Derek Boogaard passing in the off season to the season starting in Europe and Canada then Avery being sent down, called back up and then sent down again-Winning the Winter Classic in Philadelphia, HBO’s 24/7 and owning the Flyers all season (YOU CANT BEAT US!) to Lundqvist, Gabby, Hags and Girardi in the NHL All Star game to winning the division and conference (109 points) and the entire post season (two game 7’s)-there is one word that keeps coming to mind to describe the New York Rangers-that word is RESILIENT. So thank you to my team for all that great memories and those will last a life time.

My heart is literally broken into a trillion pieces. This is not how I saw our season ending. Disappointed? Yes. Devastated? To say the absolute least. But…I am SO proud of this team, and all they’ve accomplished this season. We’ve all seen what they’re capable of…and we’ve seen their flaws. I have no doubt in my mind that they’re going to come out better & stronger next season. I know they can get there.
Nothing makes you feel more alive than hockey…nothing can break your heart quite like it can. We know this, we know how good it feels to win…how bad it stings to lose…and yet we keep coming back. Because it’s the greatest sport on earth. Because they’re OUR New York Rangers. They need us just as much as we need them…First round exit, loss in the conference finals, Stanley Cup or not - I will be a fan of this team no matter what.
I’ll carry around this bitter disappointment for a long summer…the hurt won’t go away until the Rangers take the ice again at Madison Square Garden, until we’re singing the goal song until our throats are raw, until they’re stick saluting the crowd, until we’re on our feet again at the Garden…
Thank you for an amazing season, Rangers. You played your hearts out, what more could we ask for?
Kings & Devils: May the best man win.
